This policy explains what information Allegedly ("the app," "we," "us") collects, why, and how it's handled. We built Allegedly to work with as little personal data as possible — there's no account, no login, and no public feed of your content.
If you subscribe to Allegedly Gold, your purchase is processed by Apple's App Store (or Google Play on Android) and by a third-party subscription-management provider. We never see or store your payment card details — that's handled entirely by Apple/Google.
We do not sell your personal information.
On the free tier, Allegedly shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve, measure, and cap the frequency of those ads, Google and its advertising partners may use device identifiers, cookies, and similar technologies, and may process data such as your approximate (IP-based) location, device information, and ad interactions. For this activity, Google and those partners act as independent data controllers.
On iOS, Allegedly asks for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before using your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to personalize ads. If you tap "Allow," Google and its advertising partners may use your IDFA to show you more relevant ads and to measure them across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track," Apple does not share your IDFA with the app, and ads are not personalized using it. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android, Allegedly declares Google's advertising ID permission, so Google AdMob and its advertising partners may use your device's Android Advertising ID to show you more relevant ads, to measure them, and for analytics and fraud prevention. Android does not show a permission prompt for this ID, but you control it: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device's settings (on many devices under Settings → Google → All services → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads; the exact path depends on your device and Android version). If you delete it, apps that ask for it receive a string of zeros instead, so it can't be used to personalize ads. Google describes these controls in its Android help page on ads safety.
Where the GDPR (EEA/UK) or similar laws apply, we use Google's certified consent tool to ask for your choices before any ad data use that requires consent, and you can change those choices at any time from the app. The consent screen lists Google's current advertising partners; you can also review how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's ad technology providers.
Allegedly Gold removes all ads.
We use a small number of third-party service providers to run the app — for cloud storage of the limited data described above, subscription management, product analytics, and crash reporting. Each receives only the slice of data it needs to provide its service to us, acts on our instructions, and is bound by its own privacy obligations. We do not sell your personal information to any of them. Advertising is covered separately in the "Advertising" section above.
We retain the data described above for as long as your install remains active, or until you request deletion (see "Your Rights" below). Uninstalling the app stops new data collection but does not automatically delete data already stored on our servers — contact us if you'd like it removed.
We use industry-standard measures (including encrypted connections and access-controlled databases) to protect the information we store. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR in the EU/UK and CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, or to opt out of certain data uses. To make a request, contact us using the details below and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Allegedly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
